The Greatest Show! A Music and Theatre Camp

Join us for this FREE week-long camp for children ages 5-12 years designed to give kids the experience of preparing and presenting a music and theatre production. The Monday through Friday camp is being led by two professional musicians with a special interest in promoting the performing arts to children. Krista Lawrence is a Laramie native with a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Music degree from the Glenn Korff School of Music in Lincoln, Nebraska. Sebastian Sorensen has a Bachelor of Music degree from the Glenn Korff School of Music. The two have recently performed with Opera Omaha in Nebraska, as well as various theaters in the Lincoln and Omaha areas. Both have earned honors in national and international music competitions. They also have extensive experience teaching music to children, and are excited to bring this opportunity to kids in Laramie.
Attendees must pre-register by calling (307)742-9332, but there is no cost for participants. Individual lessons are available at a nominal charge but are not required. Activities will be held at Basic Beginnings South, 3520 Garfield, and will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, August 5-9, 2019. Camp will include singing, acting, choreography, and kid-created sets, props and instruments. Campers may also audition for solos and ensembles. Lunch will be provided each day, as well as an afternoon snack. The final production will take place on Friday afternoon and everyone is welcome! Admission is free, and cameras are encouraged!
