Summer Concert Series: Jazz in The Plaza

Dougan Smith Trio are taking the stage for the Summer Concert Series on July 17 for Jazz in the Plaza. The event is free and open to the public.
The Dougan Smith Trio will perform from 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Simpsons Plaza. UW Residence Life & Dining Services will provide burgers – including a veggie option --- BBQ pulled pork, hot dogs, drinks and sides for purchase from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
“Graduated with a Saxophone Performance degree at University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in 2018 and currently attending University of Wyoming with a graduate assistantship and Majoring in jazz studies and composition. I have been fortunate enough to play with musicians all over the world working on cruise ships and have arranged for some amazing projects, most recently for American Idol contestant, Ta-tynisa Wilson. I was a semi-finalist in the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) jazz competition and, as a member of UWEC Jazz Ensemble 1, have won 2 Downbeat awards for best undergraduate big band. I have one album out, "Introducing Dougan Smith Quartet," available at www.CDbaby.com, and I have a new project coming out this year.”
