Screen Printing Workshop with artist Nikki Pike

Teens ages 13 - 18 can join Denver-based artist and activist Nikki Pike for a screen printing workshop and live printing demo. Participants will work with museum educators to begin the process with an idea-generating workshop. Nikki Pike will be in Laramie for live printing during the 2019 Laramie Pop-up Art Walk, where teens can get real-world experience. During the workshop, teen participants will learn next steps in the screen printing process from coating and exposing screens to mixing inks and various methods of printing on bags, shirts, and paper.

Idea Generation Workshop: Monday, August 19 from 1 - 4pm
(UW Art Museum Shelton Studio)

Pop Up Art Walk Screen printing event (Optional): Friday, September 6, 3 - 8pm (Downtown Laramie)

Teen Screen printing Workshop: Saturday, September 7, 10am - 2pm (UW Art Museum Studio)

Participants must attend the idea generation session and half-day print workshop, with the Pop Up Art Walk an optional add-on experience. For teens interested in helping with the Pop Up Art Walk, we ask for two-hour commitment when possible. Participants can sign up for multiple two hours shifts, or just one.
