Relative Theatrics is excited to join the Play At Home ranks by commissioning a new short play by Dale Dunn, playwright of THE BIG HEARTLESS. We want to celebrate the creation of this new work by playing with you - at home! We invite you to explore the short, joyful Play At Home plays this weekend with your housemates. Let loose, have fun, and take a risk with your loved ones! Then we want to share your exploits as a part of our Thursday Night programming on May 7th by airing a line up of community Play-At-Home shows. If you would like to be included in the evening’s event, please email Anne by 5p on Monday, May 4th so she can contact the playwrights about performance rights. Information about Play At Home
In March 2020 a bunch of theaters were producing plays, business as usual, when a global pandemic had other plans. Prioritizing the safety of their communities, they made difficult decisions to cease or postpone programming for the remainder of their seasons. But the story doesn’t end there. With a spirit of resilience, adaptation, and invitation, they came together to create the Play At Home project, a series of short plays commissioned specifically for this moment of unprecedented isolation to inspire joy and connection for all. In other words, COVID-19 may have closed the theater buildings, but you can still #PlayAtHome.
