Additional Information

Jason Stenar Clark is the Wyoming Arts Council’s Creative Writing Fellow in poetry for 2020. This fellowship is an award of merit based on a writer’s body of work and honors Wyoming’s literary artists whose work reflects serious and exceptional writing, with each Fellow selected by an expert who judges works submitted anonymously. Clark will give a short reading from his successful submission entitled “More Baldwin Please,” a tribute to the novelist and intellectual James Baldwin. Poems will range from the formal and traditional to the experimental. Themes will include contemporary trans-national migration, radical abolitionism, backpacking in the Idaho wilderness, men’s touchiness about their hats, as well as several reflections on the concept and habit of neighborliness. And one poem about turtles.
