Marquelle Dent scored 30 points to lead the Wyoming Cowgirls to a 68-53 victory over Nevada in Mountain West play Saturday in Laramie.

An 11-4 run by the Cowgirls to start the second half put Wyoming in control. Dent scored four points, while Liv Roberts added five. Roberts was in foul trouble the first half.

Wyoming (8-4, 1-1) saw their lead trimmed to eight with five minutes left. The Cowgirls responded with a 12-2 spurt. Back-to-back baskets by Dent shut the door on the Wolfpack.

Natalie Baker had 13 points and five rebounds, while Roberts added 11 points and six boards. The Cowgirls shot 45 percent from the floor, including 54 percent in the second half.

Nevada (1-12, 0-2) was led by Nyasha LeSure with 24 points. Teige Zeller added 10 points. The Wolfpack shot 39 percent in the game. They were held to 32 percent in the second half. Second-leading scorer Stephanie Schmid was held to two points.

The Cowgirls head on the road to Air Force on Wednesday. The game will start at 7 p.m.
