The Wyoming Game and Fish Department stocked 2,500 Yellowstone cutthroat trout in Alsop Lake and 20,000 Bear River cutthroat trout fingerlings in Lake Hattie Tuesday afternoon.

The Yellowstone cutthroat trout in Lake Alsop average 9-10 inches in length, and anglers are required to release any fish less than 16 inches in length. But according to WGFD Biologist Lee McDonald, those fish will be long enough to keep in just a few months.

Never fish without a license, and always check the latest regulations before you go. As long as the winter kill throughout Laramie plains lakes was not too severe, it should be a great summer for anglers.
