A cultural shift is happening in America that aligns perfectly with the Credit Union movement.  It’s a move towards values-based decision making and uniting for good. It is in the spirit of this that all 4 of Laramie’s Credit Unions: ACPE, Laramie Plains, UniWyo, and Warren are joining forces to assist Laramie’s children and families in need.

Kelly Newcomer, Vice President Cashier of UniWyo Federal Credit Union stated “Unite for Good gives us a powerful opportunity for our credit unions to support the community whose members are responsible for our success.”

From February 10th through the 21st, we will be collecting donations of non-perishable foods.  This food will be used to fill the almost 100 backpacks that are sent home with Albany County students on Friday afternoons so that they have food for the weekend.  For every 2 backpacks filled, the credit unions have pledged to fill an additional backpack to feed these hungry children.

“We truly enjoy giving back to our community and, with the Unite for Good backpack campaign, all of our local credit unions can work together for the benefit of Laramie families and their children," says Julie Schmidt, Executive Vice President of Laramie Plains Federal Credit Union.
