Five Wyoming Cowgirls finished in double figures, as UW ran past San Jose State 96-60 last Saturday in the Arena Auditorium.

Jordan Kelley finished only two rebounds shy of a triple-double. Kelley scored a career-best 15 points, dished out ten assists and grabbed eight rebounds. Kaylie Rader added career-highs of 20 points and ten rebounds in the victory.

It was back-and-forth early until the Cowgirls rattled off a 29-4 run that put them in firm control. Kelley scored nine points in the spurt that put UW ahead, 42-15 with 4:55 left in the first half.

Courtesy of Learfield Sports, Cowgirl head coach Joe Legerski said,

“I thought Jordan Kelley once again was the glue of a lot of things. She is the one player on our team that likes the physical contact, and when it gets physical, Jordan really responds.”

Wyoming (6-6, 1-1) held a 59-24 edge at halftime and the lead grew to as much as 51 in the second half.

The Cowgirls also got 19 points and seven assists from Marquelle Dent. Kayla Woodward finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Kaitlyn Mileto added 17 points. UW shot 52 percent from the floor and held a 52-34 edge in rebounding.

San Jose State (7-6, 1-1) was led by Ta’Rae Cunnigan with 13 points. The Spartans shot 34 percent and committed 15 turnovers.

Wyoming is back in action on Wednesday, when the Cowgirls host Border War rival Colorado State in the Arena Auditorium. Game time is at 7 p.m.
