For the first time since 1990, the Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team is appearing in the post-season in back-to-back seasons.

After receiving and accepting an at-large bid to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) Sunday, the Cowgirls get a chance to host first and second round matches at the Uni-Wyo Sports Complex Thursday and Friday. UW looks to take advantage of being at home where they’ve gone 14-1 this season.

Wyoming (20-10) will take on Utah Valley (19-13) out of the Western Athletic Conference at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The other first-round match in Laramie is between Portland (18-12) and Northern Colorado (15-13). It begins at 4 p.m.

Seniors Reed Copeland and Emily Lewis, plus sophomore Jackie McBride, and head coach Chad Callihan preview this opportunity and getting a chance to play at home.

Wyoming is 2-5 all-time in post-season play. They are 0-1 in the NIVC after losing in the first round last year at TCU.

Tickets are available. They are $16 for reserved court-side seats. General admission tickets for adults are $11, youth are $6, and students are $4. They are available at gowyo.com/tickets.
