The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls won wrestling and tennis duals, plus nine all-time top-10 performances for indoor track and field recapped last weekend.

The Cowboy wrestling team won their final dual of the season, 29-10, over Utah Valley last Saturday night. The Pokes won seven of the ten matches, including two by pin. Those victories came from Bryce Meredith and Chaz Polson.

In a university release, head coach Mark Branch said, “I was pretty pleased finishing out the regular season with a dominating victory.”

Wyoming won five of its’ last six duals and finished 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the Big 12 Conference.

They now prepare for the Big 12 Championships in Kansas City, MO, March 5 and 6.

The Cowgirl tennis team won both their home dual matches last weekend.

Wyoming defeated the Drake Bulldogs 5-0 Friday. The Cowgirls won two doubles matches and earned that point. Then, UW posted a victory in the top four singles positions.

Sunday, the Cowgirls beat Northern Colorado, 6-1. Wyoming lost the doubles points, but swept all six singles matches in straight sets.

UW is now 6-3 on the season. They head to Denver to face the 56th-ranked Pioneers Saturday at 4 p.m.

The University of Wyoming’s Indoor Track and Field teams were at two different meets in Albuquerque, NM and Seattle, WA last weekend.

The Cowgirls recorded nine all-time top-10 marks over the two days of competition. Redshirt freshman Jerayah Davis ran the second-fastest 60 meters in school history Saturday at the Don Kirby Invite in New Mexico. She clocked a time of 7.36 in the semifinals. Davis ended up with a third place finish.

The Cowboys were led by sophomore Ricky Faure. He won the 800 meters at the Don Kirby Invite.

Head coach Bryan Berryhill said in a UW release, “I thought we got a lot better as a team this weekend. We improved in most areas.”

Wyoming track and field continues its indoor season by hosting the Rocky Mountain Classic Friday at War Memorial Fieldhouse. Action will get underway at 3 p.m.
