The Wyoming Cowboys have added a player to this year’s recruiting class and a game to a future schedule.

Head coach Craig Bohl has announced the addition of Taniela Lolohea. He is a defensive end from El Camino College in Torrance, CA. Lolohea will join the Cowboy Football program for the 2016 season as a junior and will have two years of eligibility to play for Wyoming.

The 6’1”, 245 defensive end earned Second Team All-Conference honors in the Central League of the Southern California Football Association. Lolohea recorded 56 tackles, including 5.0 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. He also recovered two fumbles, one of which was for a touchdown.

The addition makes Lolohea the 24th member of Wyoming’s 2016 recruiting class.

Future Game

The University of Wyoming and the University of Illinois have agreed to a game as part of the 2022 college football season.

The Cowboys will visit Champaign, IL on September 17, 2022.

It will be the first meeting between the two schools on the gridiron. Illinois becomes the eighth member of the Big Ten Conference that UW will have faced. The Pokes have only one win against a Big Ten school. That occurred versus Wisconsin, in Madison, back in 1986. The final score was 21-12.

Wyoming is scheduled to play at Nebraska during the upcoming 2016 season on September 10, and then at Iowa in 2017.
