Two people are facing felony drug charges after sheriff's deputies found 100 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of their vehicle, according to a spokesman for the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office.

Dick Blust says a patrol deputy and his K9 partner made a traffic stop early Tuesday on Interstate 80 near Wamsutter. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 27-year-old Ashley Marie Clark of Bluefield, West Virginia.

The passenger in the vehicle was 29-year-old Scott Schatek of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey. Blust says the K9 alerted to the presence of drugs, leading to a search of the vehicle that turned up 100 pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed bags.

Schatek and Clark are both charged with possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, and felony possession with intent to deliver.

Circuit Judge John Prokos set Schatek's bond at $30,000 and Clark's at $15,000. At last report, both were still being held in the Sweetwater County jail.
