Wyoming Chief U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal recently sentenced five men for crimes including child pornography, drugs and firearms, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

  • Russell Leroy Tanner, 65, of Rock Springs was sentenced for possession of child pornography. He received eight years one month of imprisonment, to be followed by 10 years of probation. Freudenthal also ordered Tanner to pay $5,000 to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Crimes fund, $15,000 in restitution, a $100 special assessment and a $400 fine.

This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations.

 

 

  • Jonathan Peter Roybal, 36, of Rock Springs was sentenced for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. Roybal received seven years of imprisonment, to be followed by four years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and $250 in restitution.

This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.

 

  • Zachary Richard Fuhrer, 33, of Casper was sentenced for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Fuhrer received three years 10 months of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

 

  • Kenneth Eugene Spraker, 49, of Cheyenne was sentenced for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Spraker received five years of imprisonment, to be followed by five years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment and $250 in restitution.

This case results from an ongoing Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force joint investigation conducted by the Laramie Police Department, the DCI, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The OCDETF's mission is to identify, disrupt and dismantle the most serious drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and money laundering organizations, and those primarily responsible for the nation’s illegal drug supply.

 

  • Colton Gerald Musgrave, 26, of Cheyenne was sentenced for carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime and for possession with intent to distribute over 50 grams of pure methamphetamine. Musgrave was arrested in Sweetwater County. He received 10 years of imprisonment, to be followed by four years of probation, and was ordered to pay a $200 special assessment and $400 in restitution.

This case was investigated by the Rock Springs Police Department/Street Crimes Unit, the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, and the DCI.
