Cheyenne Woman Killed in Crash, Cell Phone Use May Be to Blame

A 20-year-old Cheyenne woman is dead after rolling her car east of Laramie early Sunday morning.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeremy Beck says Seraphina Jimenez was headed east on Happy Jack Road around 2:23 a.m. when she lost control of her car and overturned it at milepost 30.

Jimenez was not properly buckled and died at the scene.

Beck says driver inattention and cell phone use are being investigated as possible contributing factors.

Jimenez is the 54th person to die on Wyoming's highways this year, and the sixth Cheyenne resident to die since April 16.
