A 39-year-old Cheyenne man is facing up to five years in prison for allegedly strangling his wife.

According to court documents, Cheyenne Police were called to Jeffrey Miller's house shortly after 11 p.m. on January 20.

Miller's wife told police that her husband, who was drunk at the time, was yelling at her and accusing her of cheating on him. She said her husband had asked to see her phone and when she refused he punched a hole in the bedroom wall and threatened to slit her throat.

When police asked if her husband had gotten physical with her, Miller's wife said he hadn't that night, but did on the night of January 18.

She told police that her husband was drunk and that he grabbed her neck and choked her until she couldn't breath. She said she got up off the floor and went into the bedroom, but her husband followed her and punched her in the head and back, making her head bleed.

Miller was arrested on a warrant for parole violation stemming from an original charge of fourth-time DUI.

Miller told police that he was locked up for a short time and that his wife went and found a "Mexican boyfriend" and brought him around his "white kids." He also told police the bruises on his wife's neck were "hickies."

Miller is being held in the Laramie County Jail on $5,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 2 in Laramie County Circuit Court.
