Buford, Wyoming – Going, Going, Sold Tomorrow!

It's a story that has reached across the country.  From New York to Laramie and even in the UK, the tiny town of Buford has had its moment in the spotlight. Tomorrow, tiny Buford, WY will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Now listen; Buford is a lot more than a literal dot on the map and hey if you have ever wanted to be a Mayor here is your chance!

The outpost was originally established during the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad way, way back when Wyoming was just a territory. In fact, Buford has been there since 1866. It was named in honor of Major General John Buford and sits in a strategic location between Laramie and Cheyenne. 

During its hey-day, It bosted a post office and (as hard as it may be to believe) a population of 2,000 souls.  And when noting its unique nature, let's not forget this little tidbit: It is the highest community on Interstate 80. Buford sits at 8,000 feet above sea level.

But it's time to turn a new page for Buford. The entire community will be auctioned at high noon, Thursday, April 5th. As with all auctions, inspection is available prior to the sale, beginning at 10 AM. Buford, a small town between Laramie and Cheyenne known for its population of one person, is up for sale Thursday.

The Nominal first bid:  100,000 dollars.
