Band Cancels Red Rocks Concert After Tour Bus Gets Stuck In Wyoming

Driving across Interstate 80 in bad weather can be virtually impossible sometimes, just ask The 1975. The English pop band was forced to cancel a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. after their tour bus got stuck in Wyoming.

The band was heading from a show in Ogden, Utah to the famed venue outside of Denver on Tuesday. The 8-hour trip on I-80 turned into a day-long journey after a late spring blizzard closed the Interstate between Rock Springs and Cheyenne. By the time I-80 reopened, it was too late for the band to make it to the venue in time for the show.

"The 1975 and all their equipment are stuck on Interstate 80 and unable to reach Red Rocks to perform tonight," the group posted on Twitter. "The band love playing at Red Rocks and are gutted to not be able to make the show this evening due to the adverse weather conditions."

They aren't the first band to get stuck in Wyoming. In March of 2016, the Smashing Pumpkins and their tour bus were stranded at a truck stop outside of Rock Springs after another storm closed the Interstate. Apparently, the band didn't actually know they were in Wyoming and announced on social media that they were stuck in Rock Springs, Colorado.

In December of 2016, a tour bus belonging to the rock band Helmet broke down on Interstate 25 between Casper and Wheatland. They rented a U-Haul and arrived in Denver just in time for their concert that night. Singer Paige Hamilton joked about the incident onstage, telling the audience they were almost forced to move the show to the "side of the road in the middle of Wyoming".
