After they allowed two runs in the top of the first, Casper took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the frame. Corbin Kirk hit a bases-clearing double to center field.

The bats went silent for the Oilers, who had just one hit over the next five innings.

Meanwhile, Juneau scored six straight runs for an 8-3 lead. The Midnight Suns had three RBI-singles in the fourth and had a 6-3 edge on the scoreboard. Another RBI-single in the fourth, plus an RBI-fielder’s choice in the seventh put Casper in a deep hole.

Harrison Taubert walked to start their last at-bat. After a pop out, Carter Young and Kirk followed with RBI-doubles. A walk to Brooks Browning put runners at first and second. After a flyout, Will Clair walked, which loaded the bases. Julian drew a walk that forced in a run. Dylan Johnson was hit by a pitch and another run scored. That cut it to 8-7 Juneau. After a second walk drawn by Taubert tied the game, Julian was at third and broke for home on a pitch in the dirt.

Kirk led Casper at the plate by going 2-4, with both hits doubles, and four RBI’s. Taubert and Young added two hits apiece. Young got the win in relief. He went 4.2 innings and allowed just two runs on four hits. Young had two walks and seven strikeouts.
