Acclaimed Journalist to Speak at The University of Wyoming
Acclaimed National Geographic journalist Mark Jenkins is scheduled to give a presentation at the University of Wyoming in March.
Jenkins is an expert on ancient ski culture located in Central Asia’s Altai Mountains. The Kazakh and Tuvan tribes’ ski cultures have remained unchanged for approximately 5,000 years.
Mark Jenkins’ presentation, titled 'Last of the First Skiers,' will delve into the last vestige of prehistoric skiing and its impact on modern global ski culture. His talk will also explore mankind’s immense adaptability in a globalized world.
Mark Jenkins is scheduled to speak at UW on March 11, at 7 p.m. in the Education Auditorium. The presentation is sponsored by UW Global and Area Studies, the UW Outreach School, the Ruth R. Ellbogen Foundation and participating community colleges.
The event is free and open to the public.
