A Eulogy To Grand Avenue’s Trees

While upgrades are necessary on the section of Grand Avenue in Laramie from 3rd Street to 15th Street, the unfortunate casualty of this increased convenience and upgraded road is, unfortunately, the trees.

Laramie is a beautiful city with many large, old and majestic trees. The ones that line Grand Avenue are large enough to have been planted at least a hundred years ago, if not more. While their roots may have caused problems with the sidewalks, and they had the habit of dropping large branches on vehicles during wind storms, they were undoubtedly beautiful.

I'm sad to see them go, though I know it's for the best. Let's pour one out tonight for our homies, the trees of Grand Avenue.
