Four juveniles have been identified as the group who vandalized at least 10 properties in east Cheyenne between June 28-30.

Police spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta says most of the vandalisms occurred in the area of Henderson Drive and Walnut Drive.

Malatesta says the kids spray-painted offensive messages on Bethesda Center of Evangelism's front door, graffitied buildings and cars, and broke windows and side mirrors on parked vehicles.

"Due to the number of vandalisms and the value of the property that was damaged, we wanted to make sure that people knew that these people had been identified and that they're going to be held responsible for it," said Malatesta.

Police are recommending the four -- an 11-year-old girl, a 12-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl, and a 14-year-old boy -- be charged with felony property destruction.

"There's nothing to indicate a larger threat to the church or anything like that," said Malatesta.  "This is just some misguided kids that had an extreme lapse of judgement."
