University of Wyoming senior place-kicker Stuart Williams has been selected a semifinalist for college football's premier scholar-athlete award.

The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) has announced its semifinalists for the 2014 William V. Campbell Trophy presented by Fidelity Investments. A total of 167 individuals from all divisions of college football were selected for this year’s NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards.

Williams, a native of Nederland, Colorado, is pursuing a double major in architectural and civil engineering at the University of Wyoming, and has achieved a 3.691 cumulative grade-point average.

Up to 16 individuals will be named recipients of an NFF National Scholar-Athlete Award that carries with it an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship for each individual. That announcement will be made on Thursday, October 30. Those recipients will advance as the finalists for the 2014 Campbell Award.

The winner of the Campbell Award will receive an additional $7,000 in scholarships money to increase their overall postgraduate scholarship to $25,000. The Campbell Award winner also will receive a 25-pound bronze trophy.
