Wyoming sophomore quarterback Josh Allen has been selected as the MW Offensive Player of the Week in his third career game.

Allen led the Cowboys to a thrilling 40-34 triple overtime victory in their season opener last Saturday night. The winning touchdown came compliments for Allen, who scrambled from his right, back to his left and went seven-yards with a dive into the end zone for the score.

In the game, Allen completed 65.5 percent of his passes (19-of-29) for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He added 10 rushing attempts for 70 yards and the game-winning score. Allen finished with 315 yards of total offense out of the 488 the Cowboys produced in the first game.

In the second half and overtime Allen stepped up his play. He went 14-of-18 for 190 yards and both TD passes. Allen began the second half 8-for-8 for 113 yards and the two scores.

New Mexico senior linebacker Dakota Cox and junior kicker Jason Sanders were named the MW Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.
