In Jackson Hole, Wyoming yesterday, single-use plastic bags were banned indefinitely starting April 15th, according to Buckrail.

On April 15th, large retail stores will not be allowed to put groceries in plastic bags.  Then starting November 1st, smaller stores have to stop using plastic bags as well.  No more single-use bags will be in Jackson Hole by the end of 2019 and customers will be forced to pay 20 cents for each paper or reusable plastic bag.  That 20 cents will be split evenly between the town and retailer.

An estimated 4.5 million bags are used in stores every year in Jackson Hole.  The money that is used to buy the bags will gross around $400,000 each year for the city.

Could the single-use plastic bag ban come to Cheyenne next?
