Wyoming is one of the most patriotic states in America, according to a new report. The study compared several factors pertaining to patriotism in every state, ranking the Cowboy State third nationwide.

Wyoming ranked above the national average in every category; first for civics education in public schools, sixth for the average number of volunteer hours, sixth for the percentage of veterans living in the state, 14th for the percentage of active duty military personnel, and 15th for the percentage of voters in the 2016 presidential election.

Virginia was crowned as the country's most patriotic state, followed by Alaska, Wyoming, South Carolina, Idaho, and Colorado. Massachusetts ranked last in the patriotism study with New Jersey, Rhode Island, Illinois, and New York rounding out the bottom five.
