The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls each announced the addition of one player to their golf rosters Monday.

The Cowboys signed Dan Starzinski from Phoenix, AZ. Starzinski starred at Thunderbird High School. He was a four-year letterwinner, the team captain his senior year and led the Chiefs to their third consecutive state championship. Starzinski won the 2013 Callaway Junior World Championship Qualifier #2 by three strokes and had a two-round tally of 142 (-2). He also excelled in the classroom graduating with honors and a 4.1 weighted grade point average.

Wyoming head coach Joe Jensen said in a university release, “Dan is an exceptional athlete and a top five Arizona golfer. He fits our program and has great upside so I look forward to having him be a part of our program.”

The Cowgirls are getting a transfer in Michelle Romano. She joins after spending her first year at Colorado-Colorado Springs. She played in three of the nine tournaments during her first season and had a scoring average of 77.83. Her best season finish was at the RMAC #1 when she tied for 14th. She finished with notching her second top-25 finish at the RMAC #2 tying for 25th.

Romano had a successful high school career and was a four-year letterwinner at the Rock Canyon High School in Lone Tree, CO. She was the team captain her junior and senior years. Romano won the individual 2014 5A Girls Golf State Championship and helped the Jaguars to a runner-up team finish.

In the release, Cowgirl head coach Josey Stender said, “I’m very excited to add a player like Michelle who brings proven collegiate experience. She is very driven and has high aspirations for herself and the program.”
