Want to break a world record?

The Cowboy County Swing Club is inviting all interested parties to participate in their attempt to break the world record for the largest swing dance. The club plans to demolish the current record of 756 individuals dancing.

How can you help?

All you have to do is show up, check-in, and dance for five minutes. Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band will be the entertainment for the evening, playing the music during the record-break and staying until 11 p.m. Once the five minutes of organized dancing for the record is complete, people can stay for hours of free dancing and a night of great, alcohol-free fun.

“The Big Dance” takes place at the University of Wyoming Field House on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Check-in begins at 7:30 p.m. with the world record break beginning at 8 p.m.

The event is completely free and open to all who want to participate, whether or not they attend the university. Those who attend will be broken into groups of 50 during check-in and assigned to a specific area. In order to break the record, people will be required to perform the same dance moves at the same time, so a manager will be assigned to each level to instruct people on the moves.

After the dance is complete, people can break away from their assigned groups and dance the night away, all for free!

The Cowboy Country Swing Club is going through the proper steps to get the club’s name in the Guinness Book of World Records.
