Works of Wyoming (WOW) has been spotlighting and selling unique, Wyoming-made gifts, crafts and artwork for years, but now they get to do so from a downtown location. The WOW gift shop and gallery has moved to 211 1st Street.

The items in the gift shop are sold on consignment and they have new artwork every week. In addition to selling everything from scarves and jewelry to photos and cards, the new space will also be utilized for workshops. Coordinator Gayle Wilson envisions a "make and take" area for people to stop in and work on projects that they get to keep. The gallery offers art to purchasers and art collectors, exhibiting four to five major shows throughout the year.

Wilson says they will still maintain their offices in the Laramie Plains Civic Center, but hopes the new location will help more people enjoy local artists and the pieces they create. A Grand Opening Open House will be held on Saturday, July 28th from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Works of Wyoming is a project of the Wyoming Women's Business Center and is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. WOW was created to encourage Wyoming artists with networking, training and workshops, art community building and marketing opportunities.
