Over the past week there has obviously been a mass exodus of students from Laramie as they take off for summer break or bigger and better things. The University of Wyoming is a huge driver of rental properties in town and without the University the landscape of the housing and rental markets would no doubt change.

Over the past year there have been a significant number of new apartment complexes built in Laramie with the largest being, 'The Grove." This new development by Campus Crest LLC is located just east of Ivinson Memorial Hospital and will be comprised of 224 apartment units, which we have been told are up for rent at a more premium price.

The other big project being completed is by the University of Wyoming with it's new multistory student housing units just east of War Memorial Stadium where the old cinder-block student housing was previously located. While the enrollment at the University of Wyoming year after year does continue to increase, we are curious as to whether the number of apartments being added for this next year might actually drive some rental prices down in Laramie.
