Baseball, to me, is still the national pastime because it is a summer game.  I feel that almost all Americans are summer people, that summer is what they think of when they think of their childhood.  I think it stirs up an incredible emotion within people.  -Steve Busby

To me, few things are better than a summer evening or afternoon at a baseball park, eating a hot dog or peanuts, watching a game that has remained relatively unchanged for 150 years. In Laramie, we are lucky to have many different levels of competitive baseball grace our fields each and every summer.

Starting with the youngest age group, Laramie has a very successful Little League program, regularly reaching the state championship and often winning the title. Many enjoy baseball from high school aged ballplayers and thus prefer the Laramie Rangers, a team which has many of their games broadcast on KOWB. Laramie is also lucky enough to be the home of a wood-bat, collegiate league team, the Laramie Colts, a team that has also had great success in their short-time playing here in the Gem City. As long as we're looking at competitive baseball around Laramie, we can't forget to mention the Colorado Rockies, though, with their recent stumbles, many might just prefer to forget them...

There are of course other ways to experience baseball in Laramie with many great parks and fields across town, and there are also well-attended summer softball leagues, but we want to know your favorite level of organized baseball, so let us know!
