The University of Wyoming is encouraging  individuals that are planning to attend the Bernie Sanders campaign event on April 5 to take advantage of the University's transit system. Sanders will be speaking at the Arts and Sciences Auditorium.

Parking will be available across the campus, and parking permit enforcement on campus will end around 5 p.m. Other parking options include the East Express lot on Willett Drive next to the University Apartments and the South Express lot on 15th St, near Spring Creek. The UW Campus Commuter shuttle will provide service from the East Express lot and will drop riders off at the classroom building every 10 minutes until 6:30 p.m. The bus will operate on a 30 minute schedule from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and include service to the South Express lot.

UW will also provide transportation to those with disabilities starting at 4 p.m. at the parking lot near the intersection of 10th St and Grand Avenue.

UW Police Chief Mike Samp says that those who plan on attending the event are discouraged from bringing bags or backpacks and that large purses may be searched. Those attending the event are also subject to be searched. No weapons, including pocket knives, will be allowed.

Doors for the event open at 5 p.m. and seats will be given on a first come, first serve basis. There is no word yet from the Sanders campaign on what time the candidate will speak.
