Guest flutist Caitlyn Valovick Moore will perform a solo recital on the University of Wyoming Music Department's Faculty Recital Series at 6 p.m. Monday, March 25, in the UW Fine Arts concert hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

The program will include 30 minutes of unaccompanied music for flute and piccolo, and a newly written piece for flute and electroacoustic accompaniment. Moore will perform as a guest of the UW flute studio and is sponsored by UW's Music Department.

Immediately following the performance, Moore will work with three of UW's flute students, who will perform flute and piccolo pieces for her to critique. The audience is welcome to stay for this portion of the program, which will be conducted in an informal fashion to allow spectators to enter and exit during the class. Moore will conclude her visit with a brief question-and-answer session about the life of an orchestral musician.

Moore plays principal piccolo with the Utah Symphony in Salt Lake City, a full-time, professional ensemble which serves as a symphony as well as an opera and ballet orchestra to the city. She also has served as a core member of the Virginia Symphony.

She received degrees from the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy, DePaul University in Chicago, and Northwestern University.
