LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming Cowboys suspended five players for the Mountain West Conference basketball tournament in Las Vegas for unspecified reasons.

UW coach Larry Shyatt says junior guard Morris Marshall, sophomore forward Hayden Dalton, freshman guard Justin James, freshman forward Andrew Moemeka and freshman guard Austin Conway have been suspended for the remainder of the season.

Shyatt said in a statement on Friday that the players were suspended for "for failing to meet the expectations of Cowboy Basketball off the court."

Team officials said UW will not comment further on the suspensions and a team spokesman and players could not be reached for comment on Saturday.

All five players are in their first year with the program.
