The University of Wyoming will host its first annual New Student Convocation on Tuesday, August 28 at 3:30 p.m. in the Arena Auditorium.

The event is designed to welcome transfer students and first-year students to the university, but everyone on campus is invited to attend, according to a UW press release.

Speakers at the event will include UW alumni and current students, and musical performances will also take place during the convocation. After the convocation, UW faculty will form a receiving line to greet students as they leave the arena.

"The convocation has been developed not just to provide a welcome to the campus community for first-year and transfer students, but also to set them on a positive path as they begin their UW careers" said Sean Blackburn, UW Vice President for Student Affairs.
