The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees is confident with President Tom Buchanan’s performance and have approved a one-year extension of his contract. The contract will now go through June 30th, 2015.

President Tom Buchanan’s salary will remain at $350,000 but his contract will now be extended to June 30th, 2015. Buchanan also refused a raise on the basis that other UW faculty and staff were not receiving pay increases. The UW Board of Trustees however did make some changes to Buchanan’s contract if he decides to retires as president and returns to a faculty position.

According to the Associated Press of Wyoming, UW Board of Trustees President Jim Neiman said the board has tremendous confidence in Buchanan’s leadership and continues to be impressed by UW’s progress under his leadership. President Buchanan has held his position since 2005 and UW Trustees have extended his contract three times in the last three years.
