The University of Wyoming Alumni Association’s (UWAA) 23rd annual Scholarship Dinner and Auction, presented by Infinity Power and Controls, is slated for Friday, April 11, at 6 p.m. at Little America in Cheyenne. The proceeds will be used to fund UW student scholarships awarded by the Alumni Association.

The support of Scholarship Club members and auction attendees allows the UWAA to provide four-year scholarships and single-year awards to more than 50 deserving students with a commitment of more than $100,000 annually, says Keener Fry, UWAA executive director.

UWAA has awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships since 1980, and the program continues to grow, Fry says. Scholarships valued at $1,500 per year are awarded to Wyoming and out-of-state undergraduate and graduate students. New awards have been added to support more Wyoming community college transfer students, veterans and underrepresented multicultural students.

Highlights of the evening include entertainment by the UW Jazz Quartet, UW alumni solo artists, scholarship recipient recognition, a silent auction including student art pieces, and a “quick-draw” auction featuring Wyoming artists. Live auction items include a Wyoming Whiskey barrel and lid; a guided fishing excursion on the Big Horn River;, Wildcatter Club seats; unique artwork; and a vacation trip to an RCI resort.

UW alumni and friends interested in attending the auction can purchase tickets online atwww.uwyo.edu/alumni/scholarships/benefit_auction.html  or call (307) 766-4166.
