A lack of offensive productivity plagued the Laramie Lady Plainsmen Friday night in a 35-20 loss at Cheyenne South.

Laramie (5-9, 0-3) remains winless in the 4A East Conference and dropped their third straight.

Head coach Kyle Stucky said,

“We knew to be able to get them out of the zone, you’ve got to knock some shots down, and we didn’t hit them at all. I thought we had good looks. We just couldn’t by a bucket tonight.”

The Lady Plainsmen shot 14 percent from the field and failed to score in double figures in any quarter. They went 6-of-43 from the floor, which included 0-11 from deep.

Cheyenne South (7-8, 1-2) jumped out to an early 12-2 lead. LHS was able to trim the deficit to six at the end of the opening quarter. Then, Laramie scored only one point in the second period and trailed 18-7 at half. The Lady Bison pulled away in the fourth quarter, as the lead reached 19 points.

South shot 36 percent and made ten more field goals than Laramie. The Lady Bison were led by Kara Clarke with nine points. Dani and Karli Noble added eight points apiece.

The Lady Plainsmen were led by Eliza Dickinson and Alexis Pickerd, each with six points. They held a 35-31 rebounding edge on South, but committed 17 turnovers.
