Ska band The English Beat will perform a show at the Gryphon Theater on Monday, May 16. The show is open to all ages and will start at 7 p.m.

The English Beat, known as The Beat in their home country, formed in 1978. The band originally consisted of vocalist Dave Wakeling, guitarists Roger Charlery and Andy Cox, bassist David Steele, drummer Everett Morton, and saxophone player Lionel Martin. After releasing three albums in the early 1980s, the band broke up. The English Beat currently consists of two different groups: a U.S. group led by Wakeling, and a U.K. group, led by Charlery.

Tickets are $25 and can be bought by visiting the Gryphon Theatre box office, or by calling (877) 987-6487.
