It’s one of the toughest road trips of the season for the Laramie Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen, as they open 4A East Conference play this weekend.

Laramie plays at Gillette today and at Sheridan tomorrow. Both LHS teams will face opponents ranked in the top 5 of the latest Wyopreps.com Coach’s and Media Basketball Poll.

Laramie Plainsmen

The Laramie Plainsmen (7-3) have won six of their last seven games. They’ll take on the fourth-ranked Gillette Camels (5-6) tonight at 7:30. Then, it’s off to face the fifth-ranked Sheridan Broncs (6-4) tomorrow at 2 p.m.

Plainsmen head coach Chuck Kern said, “That’s going to be a big challenge for us, learning to win against two top five teams on the road, so it’s a great opportunity for our guys.”

Laramie Lady Plainsmen

After a tough start to the season, the Laramie Lady Plainsmen (5-6) have won five of their last seven. Their challenge is actually tougher, as they face the third-ranked Gillette Camels (9-2) tonight at 6 p.m. Saturday will bring a match-up against the second-ranked Sheridan Broncs (10-1). The game is set for tomorrow afternoon at 12:30.

Lady Plainsmen head coach Kyle Stucky said, “It’s going to be a tough task. These two teams are good, and you want to find out where you are, you play the best. We got that the first weekend in conference play.”
