Here's a fun fact: the great state of Wyoming has two trails called Jackass Pass and they're both magnificent.

The most popular of the two Jackass Pass Trails starts north of the Big Sandy Lake and runs up the Continental Divide to the Cirque of the Towers in the Wind River Mountains, then descends down to Lonesome Lake before meeting up with the North Fork Trail.

150 miles away, there's another Jackass Pass bordering Grand Teton National Park. The 6.7-mile trail runs from Berry Creek to Jackson Lake before connecting with several trails in the Bridger-Teton National Forest.

The Jackasses are two of several uniquely named places in Wyoming's high country. Not far from Jackass Pass in the Wind River Range, you'll find Lizard Head Peak. There's also Deadman Mountain, Bitch Creek Trail, the Kinky White Trail, and Scab Creek, just to name a few.
