Laramie has been holding a celebration of Wyoming's statehood since 1940, but for the 2012 edition of Laramie Jubilee Days, the party is getting a bit bigger. Laramie Jubilee Days has partnered with the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site to create a new event this year, the “Wyoming Statehood Celebration" on Tuesday July 10, 2012 at the Wyoming Territorial Prison from 11 AM to 2 PM.

A Milk Can Dinner, giant kites and stagecoach rides are some of the fun new pieces to the Butch Cassidy Festival at the Wyoming Territorial Prison. Formerly Butch Cassidy Days, the now one day festival will take place on June 9 from 9 a.m to 5 p.m.

While many people are associated with the Wyoming Territorial Prison and their most famous prisoner, Butch Cassidy, the museum has taken a big step to ensure the history of the prison after it housed criminals is not forgotten. The "Science on the Range" exhibit is now open.
