Wyoming Secretary of State Max Maxfield and famed Wyoming trial lawyer and author Gerry Spence will be among speakers during University of Wyoming spring commencement ceremonies.

The University of Wyoming Department of Anthropology is welcoming the curator of North American archaeology at the American Museum of Natural History to present the 16th annual Mulloy lecture. The public is invited to hear David Hurst Thomas will speak on "Alpine Archaeology in the American West: Indians in Unexpected Places" with a reception to follow.

The 2012 Martin Luther King Jr./Days of Dialogue at the University of Wyoming are lining up to be a star-studded affair as UW announced on Tuesday that actor Hill Harper will be the keynote speaker. Best known for his current role as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes in "CSI: NY", Hill will speak at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, in the Arts and Sciences auditorium.

It’s Law Week at the University of Wyoming and Egil “Bud” Krough will be one of the weeks featured speakers. Krough was the Nixon administration lawyer who served prison time for ordering the break-in of Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg’s psychiatrist. Krough will talk at 5:30pm in room 178  this Tuesday October 25th.

A number of famous and important people have made visits to the Gem City over the years. Come this October, one of the most influential world leaders of the 20th century will be coming to speak at the University of Wyoming. Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev will be speaking in Laramie October 14th.

In an effort to counter-speak 1960's radical Bill Ayers the University of Wyoming College Republicans will bring Conservative Ann Coulter to Laramie to speak. After much debate, Bill Ayers spoke at UW last April. In a balancing act the university has announced that Ann Coulter is set to speak on March 31st.

Professor Temple Grandin, whose life story was recently profiled in an award-winning HBO movie, will give two presentations at the University of Wyoming in February.
