Laramie Music

It's been a long, long road trip for Laramie's own Younger Brothers Band, but they are finally back home to Laramie after a few months out on the road. From the sounds of things they are glad to back in Wyoming, but just because they are home doesn't mean that they are taking a break.

The first weekend of the spring semester promises to bring some good country music to Laramie as the Cowboy Saloon & Dance Hall, located downtown on 2nd Street, welcomes Corb Lund and Jalan Crossland to the stage on Saturday night, January 14th. The music kicks off at 7PM and it should be a terrific night of entertainment and dancing!

If you are looking for something to do on the evening of Saturday, January 14th, the musical group Tenors Un Limited will perform a concert starting at 7PM in the Laramie Plains Civic Center. In July of 2008, Paul Martin of the Tenors married Casper's Lila McConigley, and ARTCORE of Casper had the honor of presenting the four performers in concert.

A free concert by Wyoming musicians, The Patti Fiasco, in the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom will get the spring semester going for returning students. The Student Activities Council event will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 8 p.m.

2011 marks the 15th year for Central City Opera's award-winning touring program and the 8th year of collaboration with University of Colorado-Boulder.  The 2011 tour of "Opera Rocks the Rockies" runs November 5 through November 12, 2011 throughout northern Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. American indie rock band Typhoon, along with supporting bands Wild Ones and Youth, will perform a free concert at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the University of Wyoming Ballroom at the Wyoming Union. Billboard jazz vocalist Jane Monheit will perform Sunday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Wyoming Fine Arts concert hall. Tickets cost $15 for students and senior citizens and $20 for the public. Tickets are available at the Wyoming Union and Fine Arts box offices or online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts .

I know this is not a local concert, but being a huge Bob Marley fan, as well as  Ziggy and Damian "Jr Gong" Marley fan I had to let you know about it!  This will be the closest you can get to seeing him unless you go to Jamaica. Come down to Denver Monday and see Ziggy! Much Respect!

Just in case you are unaware there is a big game this weekend the Wyoming vs Nebraska game is this Saturday! Very good now you know that, there is a lot of stuff going on game related and some believe it or not, not football related! Also there is a lot a great music and cool events going on all weekend long!
