Grand Avenue

Road construction projects are hardly ever convenient, but some projects definitely go better than others. The project on the intersection of 30th St and Grand Avenue was able to finish up eight days early, but it still forced drivers to detour away from a major part of Laramie for two months.

Warmer weather means the construction will begin work on several roads in Laramie. On Monday the full reconstruction of Vista Drive will begin as well as a short-term maintenance project on the Clark Street bridge according to the Wyoming Transportation Department.

Your Question: Why are construction crews tearing up parts of Grand Avenue that they just finished paving earlier this month? Also I was under the impression that Grand Avenue would be repaved all the way through town but now it looks like potholes are just being filled again. On Wednesday morning, crews will begin patching Grand Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets. Motorists are advised to expect minor delays during daylight hours due to single lane restrictions in each direction on Grand.

Your Question: I would like to know why the new stop lights never have the green arrow anymore? The turn arrows use to turn green to allow people to turn. I have not seen one of them turn green since they were put up. Sometimes on 15th and Grand I sit through two, sometimes three full red lights before I get to turn. (unless I run the darn thing)

Road and water infrastructure have been the hot topic of discussion around Laramie for years. In the coming months the Laramie Public Works Department is hoping to begin approximately thirty infrastructure projects. It’s a step that will greatly improve the quality and efficiency of Laramie’s streets and the cities decaying water and waste water lines.
