Including the change in gas prices in Wyoming during the past week, prices yesterday were 15.3 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 0.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

Gasoline prices have risen in much of the country over the last week as crude oil prices rose to over $50 per barrel.

Average retail gasoline prices in Wyoming have fallen 2.9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.20/g yesterday.

This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.17/g.

Just four states- South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi and New Jersey currently enjoy a state average under $2 per gallon, but by Halloween that number could quadruple.

With the conclusion of Labor Day weekend comes the end of the summer driving season in the world's largest gasoline consuming country, setting the stage for gasoline demand and prices to fall.

As oil prices have continued to lift, gasoline prices may see additional slight increases in some parts of the country again this week, but overall, gasoline and diesel prices remain very low.
