This increase contributes to a freshman class of 1,891, which is 552 more students than the freshman class of January 2017.

The UW Board of Trustees considered possible changes to out-of-state and online tuition as well as moving to a 'block tuition' system to increase enrollment of out-of-state and nonresident students, as part of a capacity study conducted by Huron Consulting Group.

The workshops will take place on the UW campus in the Wyoming Union Ballroom on Feb. 12-13 and will be led by a nationally recognized expert in creating inclusive environments, Kathy Obear.

The move is being considered as a way to help boost enrollment.

The closures will go into effect at the end of this school year.

After working towards lofty enrollment goals as part of their five-year strategic plan, the University of Wyoming has increased enrollment at the university for the fall 2017 semester.

While the university is expecting the largest freshman class it has ever seen, the overall enrollment at UW will remain relatively stable. Aguayo said this is because the university also just graduated its largest class ever this year.

The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees approved several new personnel appointments during their meeting in Laramie today, including a new AVP of enrollment management.

The new position, in the UW office of academic affairs, was created to head UW’s enrollment management team management team and to increase student recruitment, retention and graduation.
