CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Summer Wyoming Senior Olympics will be held in Cheyenne in August 2019 and 2020.

State Senior Olympics President Bill Stone announced Monday that Cheyenne would be the site of the games.

Stone says Cheyenne first hosted the senior games in 2011 and 2012 and set records for participation, hosting more than 500 athletes from 17 states.

He says the event hasn't had 500 athletes participating since then.

Senior athletes will be able to participate in more than a dozen sports, including track and field, swimming, pickleball, table tennis and badminton.

Online registration will begin next March.
