Summer is in full swing in Laramie and while any wildfires burning in Albany County are either fully or mostly contained, there are still fire restrictions in place until further notice and they have an effect on grilling. To help you stay within the limitations of the fire restrictions, here is a grilling guide from the City of Laramie Parks & Recreation Department.

Recreational fires and fire pits will require special permitting prior to use as will grills in excess of 3 feet in diameter. Charcoal grills will be allowed within the City limits if they are being used on improved land and are constantly attended.  Please keep the following guidelines in mind when grilling: Grills and smokers should be at least 10’ from any structure; at least one method of extinguishment must be nearby (garden hose, fire extinguisher etc); a responsible adult must be in continual attendance until the grill is extinguished; use on improved land only (irrigated or maintained lawn, non-combustible surfaces, concrete, driveways, asphalt etc.); grill diameter shall not exceed 3 feet.
