Going to graduate in May? Or maybe wanting to explore the available job opportunities? This coming Tuesday, February 21st, the University of Wyoming is hosting its spring job fair in the Union Ballroom from 10am-3pm. The job fair provides an excellent opportunity for you to network with potential employers and see what job opportunities are available in your field.

Never been to a job fair? Don’t worry you just need to prep yourself properly. First, make sure you dress appropriately. Because you are meeting potential employers, you want to look professional. Treat this networking experience in the same way you would a job interview. Second, make sure that you learn about each of the companies/organizations you want to visit with at the job fair. It’s important that you are knowledgeable about their organization before you meet their representation. All the organizations/companies attending are listed online. Third, make sure that you bring plenty of resumes with you to the job fair. You will want to be able to pass them out to your potential employers. Since your resume says a lot about you, make sure it is in tip-top shape. On Monday night from 5:30-7pm in the Union Ballroom, the Center for Advising and Career Services is hosting a resume roundup, where you can bring your resume to be reviewed and critiqued by employers in the job fair. There is free pizza and soda while supplies last. Finally, be confident. Even if you feel unsure or worried, project confidence and show the employers that you are the best candidate for the job. Good luck!
